Cricket South Africa (CSA) is yet to react on the development but has been continuously ensuring the BCCI of strict Bio-Bubble protocols that will completely safeguard the Indian team from any virus threat.
According to reports coming in from South Africa, the first few matches can be played without spectators as the Government is yet to grant permission for fans in the stadium.
Now with country’s President himself testing positive it is unlikely that CSA will be allowed any ticket sales.

When will Virat Kohli & team travel to South Africa? Indian Cricket team currently is in Mumbai and have already entered 3 days Quarantine at a hotel near to International Airport. The team is scheduled to fly to South Africa on 16th December (Thursday) via a Charter plane booked by the BCCI.
The team will land in Johanesburg & will play 1st of the 3 test series at Centurion.
India will play three Tests and three ODIs but at this point of time only the members of the Test squad will fly to South Africa.
The incident-free A tour to South Africa has boosted hopes of both BCCI & CSA as both feel the tour can proceed without any hitch.
India A squad members Navdeep Saini, Saurabh Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Arzan Nagwaswallam, Hanuma Vihari and Vivek Ramakrishna (trainer) have stayed back in South Africa – Kohli & others will join them on 16th December in Johanesburg.

India vs South Africa Series: In order to safeguard the Virat Kohli led team entire hotel on the outskirts of Centurion has been booked by CSA.
Indian cricket team will stay at the plush Irene Country Lodge. On the instructions of the local board the hotel is already has gone into BIO-BUBBLE lockdown.
Indian Team Hotel SA – Irene Country Lodge: According to reports in local media, Irene Lodge will host the Indian cricket team once they arrive on Thursday. This is the same hotel where earlier Sri Lanka & South Africa team were hosted.
The Indians will be based at the hotel for the Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Virat Kohli’s team will stay put at the same hotel for the New Year’s Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg before moving to Cape Town.
CSA’s strict instructions & guidelines for the hotel
- No outside guest allowed in the hotel
- The staff involved are already quarantining at the hotel
- Regular testing is being done for the staff
- Everything that comes on to the property is thoroughly checked to ensure that all the health and safety requirements are met
- The hotel has been zoned off into various sectors to ensure that there is no contamination.
- Covid-19 compliance officers are appointed at the hotel
Indian Team Hotel SA – Irene Country Lodge: The lodge has hosted two successful bio-bubbles at the hotel during the height of the pandemic on behalf of Cricket SA.
Meanwhile South Africa President is currently receiving treatment for Covid-19 symptoms following a positive test result & his will be passed to Deputy President according to the statemeny by the Government.
