Virat Kohli & Co entered a three-day quarantine before they leave for Johannesburg on December 16.
Agarwal might have performed brilliantly in the second Test against New Zealand but the batter is looking forward to South Africa series to continue his fine form on foreign soil too. “We will relish the abroad challenge in South Africa, so we’re looking forward to that too,” said Mayank.

- Mayank Agarwal would play as the backup opener. He could feature in the playing XI in case of an injury.
- The right-handed batsman would be dropped to the bench even after scoring 150 and 62 in the Mumbai Test.
- The first Test will be played from December 26 at SuperSport Park, Centurion. The Test series and ODIs will be played under strict bio-bubble amid the spread of new COVID variant Omicron virus.
