India tour of South-Africa: Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant train with Vinod Kambli, Mayank seeks grandmother’s blessings for SA tour
Rahane, Rishabh trains with Vinod Kambli: Ajinkya Rahane and wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant sought the advice of former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli before embarking on their tour to South Africa.
Both Rahane & Pant spent some time in the nets with the left-hander in Mumbai, who gave some crucial advice to the Indian duo.
Ajinkya Rahane is averaging just over 17 in Tests this year and is under tremendou pressure to retain his place in the Indian squad.
The series against South Africa is very crucial for the veteran Indian, having lost his vice-captaincy to Rohit Sharma, while Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer battle to take over his spot in the side.
Rahane during the session was joined by Rishabh Pant.
Pant was rested for the Tests against New Zealand and has been one of India’s best performers in the longest format of the game, averaging well above 40 this year.
The Indian wicket-keeper played some crucial knocks against Australia and England earlier this year but did not make the most of his chances while in England.
Was a pleasure to help Ajinkya & Rishabh train for the upcoming South Africa series. Shared some valuable insights with them about the SA conditions. My best wishes to them for #SAvIND series.

No tour starts without this. Grandmom’s teeka and blessings before every competition. It’s been so for as long as I can recall. Their blessings are the foundation on which I build myself.
The emotions and the memories are priceless. pic.twitter.com/dglIVUf8pw
