Rohit Sharma arrives day late after Personal commitment –

Rohit Sharma who will lead the Indian side in the only rescheduled match has arrived late in England as he informed BCCI of his personal commitments.
Rohit was due to travel with the rest of the squad on Thursday but then decided to travel separately on Friday and was seen arriving in London in afternoon.
Rohit will be performing the duties of the skipper for the first time since the IPL, having been rested for the South Africa series at home.
The Indian team will have an added on boost with Rohit’s arrival after senior players are also part of the contingent including Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami and Shubman Gill.

Rohit’s first overseas tour as full-time captain-

The upcoming tour of England will be Rohit Sharma’s first overseas tour as full-time captain.
Rohit was appointed full-time captain of the Indian team in December 2021 for limited-overs format and then for Tests in January 2022.
However, Rohit got injured prior to the South Africa tour and missed the entire series.
After the tour Rohit was did take charge of the Indian team against Sri Lanka and West Indies, but both were home series.
After resting against South Africa in the home series he will now try to make an impact having faced a tough IPL 2022 campaign.

Rohit to finish the unfinished business-

India currently lead the five-match Test series 2-1, before the series was postponed due to Covid-19 outbreak within the squads last year.
India will face a stern challenge against England having beaten the World Test Championship (WTC) holders recently.
This will be a perfect opportunity for Sharma to make an impact as the skipper.
He will also have the services of other senior Indian players like Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami at his disposal.
