India Tour of England – Rishabh Pant joins Indian team squad: After ending quarantine post-Covid-19, Rishabh Pant is back and has joined Virat Kohli-led Team India squad in Durham. Rishabh Pant has been isolating at a relative’s home after contracting COVID-19 while on a 20-day break. He was asymptomatic and now that he has recovered, his quarantine had ended on Sunday. On Thursday Pant joined the team in Durham & if fit will be playing 2nd practice match.

India Tour of England: Great news, Rishabh Pant is back, joins Indian team squad in Durham

India Tour of England: Will Pant play the practice match?  Pant has already missed the ongoing first practice match against Select County XI team. But according to the sources in the team if declared fit, he will surely play the 2nd practice game.

It is worth noting that India is scheduled to play 1st test match vs England on August 4 and it will be important for Pant that he get some practice before the big series.

India Tour of England: Rishabh Pant is back, what happens to Wriddhiman Saha and others?

Indian team reported two positive COVID-19 cases in wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant and throwdown specialist Dayanand Garani, who had been isolated at separate London locations. Three others — Abhimanyu Easwaran, Wriddhiman Saha and bowling coach Bharat Arun — have also been in isolation as Garani’s close contacts.

  • Team sources told InsideSport that the quarantine period for  Abhimanyu Easwaran, Wriddhiman Saha and bowling coach Bharat Arun will only end on 24th July.
  • All 3 according to the information available have tested negative repeatedly.
  • The information InsideSport has, according to that none of them will be part of the 2nd practice match.
  • As far as Garani is concerned, he will stay in complete isolation for some more time.

India Tour of England – England announce 17 member squad: All-rounder Ben Stokes returns to the Test squad after he missed the two-match series against New Zealand in June to enable continued management of the finger injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League.

Stokes captained England to a 3-0 series win in the Royal London Series against Pakistan earlier this month and has since rested from cricket to optimise his preparation ahead of the India Tests.

Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Sam Curran also come back into the Test squad. Ollie Robinson is included after he took seven wickets on his Test debut against the Black Caps at Lord’s.

Jofra Archer (right elbow) and Chris Woakes (bruised heel) are both unavailable due to injury.
