Irrelevant to say that Tamim Iqbal is a massive Neymar fan, and the gift certainly made his day. However, the Bangladesh opener couldn’t get to meet his favourite footballer in Qatar.
The autographed gift was also arranged by Tamim’s common friend – Robin Mia, who has been associated with Neymar for a very long time, according to local reports. Mia provides logistical support to Neymar’s family, who came to Qatar for the World Cup.
Mia got to know that the Bangladesh cricketer would be coming to Qatar to watch Brazil vs Serbia game, and this is where he got Neymar’s autographed jersey for Tamim.
Neymar suffered a swollen right ankle in the game against Serbia, the same game which Tamim went all the way from Bangladesh to Qatar for. The recent reports from Brazilian football team claims that Neymar is recovering well, and is likely to participate in Bazil’s third Group G match, if required.
