In any case, Chetan Sharma-led former selection committee had kept him in the squad subject to fitness,” a BCCI source privy to developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

Ravindra Jadeja has been out of action since India’s group-stage match vs Hong Kong in the Asia Cup, with the all-rounder undergoing surgery for the same. The 33-year-old missed India’s T20 World Cup campaign and Cricbuzz reports that the star all-rounder is unlikely to be fit for the series against Bangladesh.
India play three ODIs and two Tests next month against the Bangla Tigers and Jadeja was named in the squads subject to fitness. The Chetan Sharma-led committee has now been sacked, but Cricbuzz reports that the four-member panel are still at work as usual. A replacement may be announced in the coming week, with the India A squad also set to be announced.

Rohit Sharma’s side have already packed three spinners into their squad with Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav all set to make the trip. A like-for-like replacement would see India A’s Saurabh Kumar make the team, after being called up earlier this year. He also got a five-for against New Zealand A in an ‘A’ Test series in Bengaluru.
The Men in Blue are due to play two Tests and three ODIs in Bangladesh and a full-strength team under Rohit Sharma is set to visit the neighbouring nation. India will play two Tests — December 14-18 in Chittagong and December 22-26 in Mirpur after a short three-match ODI series in the first week of next month.
India are still in the hunt for a place in the World Test Championship Finals, trailing leaders Australia and South Africa. Rohit Sharma’s side need to win all 6 matches to make it to the final, set to be played in June at Lord’s.
