India team meet PM Narendra Modi to kick-start T20 World Cup celebrations

India cricket team stars, led by skipper Rohit Sharma, were felicitated by PM Modi after the team's historic T20 World Cup win

A jubilant India cricket team unit comprising of skipper Rohit Sharma and co met Prime Minister Narendra Modi after landing in New Delhi following the T20 World Cup win. The stars were felicitated by PM Modi in his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi, hours after their delayed arrival from Barbados. The team has left the PM’s residence and is now scheduled to depart for Mumbai where they will take part in further celebrations.

What’s lined up today for Team India?

Rohit Sharma and co. landed in New Delhi at 6:10 AM on Thursday, courtesy of a special Air India flight arranged by the BCCI. The team will head back to ITC Maurya hotel after meeting PM Modi for a short break before they jet off to Mumbai.

In the ‘City of Dreams’, the Men in Blue will have a 2 km long victory parade following which there will be a brief ceremony in the Wankhede stadium where the prize money will be distributed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
