India T20 WC Practice: India vs Western Australia-XI: India’s star batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul decided to miss India’s practice game against Western Australia on Monday. Instead, they were seen practicing in the nets. It was India’s first practice match and the focus was on giving game time to Rishabh pant and Dinesh Karthik who haven’t had much time in the middle. However, both Kohli and Rahul were seen practising side by side for long at the nets when India were playing against Western Australia XI. It was followed by practice session on the centre wicket. Both will be looking to adjust to the pace and bounce quickly. The are expected to play the 2nd practice match on Wednesday.

India will be playing their first game of the ICC T20 WC 2022 against Pakistan on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Nevertheless, the Asian nation are set to play several practice games before their opening game against the men in green. As far as the ongoing warm-up game against the Ashton Turner-led side is concerned, India were playing without the services of Kohli and Rahul.

Both of them decided to practice in the nets to prepare for the major tournament. However, it is to be noted that Kohli and Rahul have been in superb form of late. While the Karnataka batter scored 108 runs in two games during the T20I series against South Africa, Kohli has been scoring runs for fun since the Asia Cup 2022.

Thus, it is safe to say that their decision to skip the practice game against Western Australia shouldn’t be questioned. It will be interesting to see if Rahul and Kohli do participate in the upcoming warm-up game against the same side on October 13. As for the ongoing match, India won the game by 13 runs. the Indian team scored 158 in their stipulated 20 overs during the first innings of their warm-up game against Western Australia. In the process, they lost six wickets

It was Suryakumar Yadav who was brilliant as the Mumbai batter scored a brilliant 35-ball 52. As far as their bowling is concerned, Arshdeep Singh was superb as he picked up three wickets. Thus, this comes as a confidence booster for the Indian team ahead of the T20 WC.
