India will travel to Bangladesh to play a 3-match ODI series in December and follow it up with 2 Test matches. The biggest news, however, is the return of Ravindra Jadeja into the squad along with the likes of Deepak Chahar. With the Men in Blue traveling with a full squad, there is however no place for Sarfaraz Khan in the Test squad while veteran Ajinkya Rahane gets snubbed yet again. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul all return o the squad after being rested for the tour of New Zealand while Hardik Pandya who will lead India against New Zealand in the shortest format has been rested in this tour. Star All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja returns to the team after a long time.

Jadeja has been included in both ODI and Test squads for the series, while the player recovers from his injury. Jadeja was ruled out of the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup after having an operation on his left knee. Jadeja who will also miss the New Zealand tour is now currently recovering at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Sarfaraz Khan who was set to return to the team has been overlooked yet again while Test veteran Ajinkya Rahane has been snubbed yet again. Rahane who was dropped from the squad after repeated poor performances has failed to take his spot in the team.

“The doors are always open for those who perform. Cheteshwar Pujara performed and he is there (in the team). Ajinkya Rahane is trying hard, and also scored some runs, but to return to the team he has to score more runs. And he knows that, he’s in constant touch with the selection committee,” said Chetan Sharma, the chairman of Selectors
