Major Decisions by Selectors

  • India Squad T20 Series vs NewZealand: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are out of T20 squad along with other seniors. Prithvi Shaw has earned a recall after 18 months exile.
  • Jasprit Bumrah FITNESS: Jasprit Bumrah is out of the NewZealand series while he is also absent in the first two Tests against Australia. His return will be determined at a later date.
  • Ravindra Jadeja Fitness: Jadeja has passed the fitness test but the selectors have refused to rush his return. As a result he is out of the NZ series. While he has been named for the Australia series, it is subject to fitness.
  • Who Replaces Rishabh Pant? – KS Bharat will take Pant’s place in TEST SQUAD. Ishan Kishan has also earned a Test recall as a backup for Bharat.
  • No Sarfaraz Khan: His name was discussed but he will have to wait for his chance. Ajinkya Rahane is also a notable omission.
  • Prithvi Shaw gets a chance – After 18 months, Prithvi Shaw finally gets a chance in the T20 series against NewZealand.
