India smash World Record, surpass Pakistan for Most T20I Wins

With 136 wins in 213 matches, India now have the most wins in T20Is, surpassing Pakistan’s tally of 135 wins in 226 games.

India Cricket Team has created a world record of Most T20I wins. With a 20-run win over Australia in the IND vs AUS 4th T20I in Raipur, Team India now have 136 wins in 213 matches. Pakistan have 135 wins in 226 games. New Zealand are third on the list with 102 wins in 200 matches.

Since 2006, making T20I debut under Virender Sehwag, a total of 13 captains have led India Cricket Team in these 17 years. While Rohit Sharma has been the most successful in terms of winning percentage (76.47), MS Dhoni has led India to 2007 T20 World Cup title. Virat Kohli had also led India to 30 wins in 50 games during his tenure.

Suryakumar Yadav adds to the list of successful captains even though he has left only in four games so far.

In those 213 matches, India have had 110 players with Shahbaz Ahmed being the latest to make India debut, wearing cap number 110.

And with growing talent pool to choose from in T20Is thanks to Indian Premier League, the number will only increase. In fact, India have handed over 11 debut caps in 2023 alone.

But now, the focus shifts to T20 World Cup with seven matches and an IPL to go for the mega event. A young Indian brigade has powered India to a series win against Australia. And the next assignment will be against South Africa, followed by Afghanistan.
