Team India Press Conference: ‘Not captain but leader’ Surykumar heaps praise on Rohit Sharma

IND vs SL 1st T20I: New India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav set to address the media ahead of India vs Sri Lanka 1st T20I

It is now time for the India vs Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) series. Ahead of the IND vs SL 1st T20I, new India Cricket Team T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav addressed the media. Team India, now devoid of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will take on the Emerald Isles in a three match T20I series. SKY is set to captain the side while young Shubman Gill will serve as his deputy.

New Team India

Team India will be without the veterans like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. The trio announced their retirement after India lifted the T20 World Cup at Barbados. So, now Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the new skipper of the side.

Giving SKY a good company will be India’s new vice captain. Young Shubman Gill has been appointed as the new vice captain of India in ODIs and T20Is. A lot will ride on the youngster’s shoulder as he regains his opener’s spot for the Men in Blue in this series.
