If the first game didn’t cause much selection headache, then Rahul Dravid is in for a big one for dilemma in the IND vs AFG 2nd T20I. While Virat Kohli will retain his place in the Playing XI, there are quite a few selection headaches for the India head coach. Shubman Gill is likely to get the nod ahead of Yashasvi Jaiswal as Bishnoi vs Kuldeep debate wages on.
India have a plethora batters both in the top and the middle order. Fuelled by the addition of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, there are quite a few players who are likely to miss out on their spots.
Yashasvi Jaiswal missed the first match with a right groin injury. It is expected that he can find himself on the bench given Shubman Gill smashed a quick firing 23 run knock with 5 boundaries. Despite the horrible mix-up which costed Rohit Sharma to depart on a duck, it can be expected that Gill & Rohit will be opening pair.
Virat Kohli is set to play at his prominent role at number 3. Previously Rahul Dravid has dismissed rumours of Kohli opening with Rohit. Tilak Varma will take the number 4 spot and will look to stitch a good partnership with Kohli.
Jitesh Sharma is expected to get the nod ahead of Sanju Samson after his antics in the first match. He will be joined by Shivam Dube who was the Man of the Match in the 1st match. Dube impressed everyone with his unbeaten 60 and a solitary wicket. Rinku Singh retains his spot as the designated finisher.
Axar Patel scalped 2 wickets in the previous game and will get his chance. There is however a big debate on Kuldeep Yadav vs Ravi Bishnoi. The latter conceded 35 runs in 3 overs in the previous game. Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep slot in as the 2 pacers to complete India’s playing XI.
