India Predicted Playing XI: All eyes on Rohit’s return, selection galore for Rahul Dravid in IND vs AFG 1st T20I

No Virat Kohli, all eyes on Rohit Sharma's T20I return as selection headaches trouble Rahul Dravid

The India Cricket Team is back in action in the shortest format of the game. After a 1-1 series draw, Team India will be eyeing for a perfect series wrap in the IND vs AFG T20I series. However, all eyes will be on Rohit Sharma who return to India’s T20 setup after a span of 14 months.

Though Virat Kohli has returned, he will miss the 1st game owing to personal reasons. As for top order, Rohit Sharma is expected to open proceedings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Rahul Dravid has confirmed in the pre match press conference that the Men in Blue will go ahead with the right-left handed combo.

There is however a bit of confusion regarding who slots in at number 3 in the absence of Virat Kohli. Will it be the dynamic Tilak Varma or Shubman Gill. Or could Gill slot in at 3 while Tilak takes the number 4 spot in the absence of the injured SKY.

There is also a headache regarding the keeper’s position. Will it be Sanju Samson or Jitesh Sharma? It is likely that the latter gets the nod ahead of the Rajasthan Royals skipper. On the other hand, Rinku Singh will slot in at his preferred number 6 slot for the designated finisher in the team.

Axar Patel at 7 is a handy both with the bat and ball. Kuldeep Yadav, fresh with confidence is likely to get the nod ahead of Ravi Bishnoi in the first game. And then finally comes the three pacers who will lead the attack in the form of Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar.
