India vs England Pink Ball Test – Bumrah to make a comeback in XI: After being rested in the 2nd Test in Chennai, India’s pace star Jasprit Bumrah is all-set to come back to the Playing XI against England in the 3rd Test that will be a pink-ball Day/Night affair at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad, beginning on February 24.

Bumrah has been India’s best bowler in the last few years, giving India’s pace attack an edge. But injuries have limited his time in India colours. To get him fresh for the third Test, India rested the talented pacer. As he is expected to be rested for ODIs as well, Bumrah according to information available with InsideSport.co will surely be included in the Playing XI for the Pink-Ball Test.

India Playing XI for 3rd Test – Will India continue with 3 Spinners in Pink Ball Test?

The 3rd Test, being a Day/Night game, is expected to yield a result as has been the case in all 15 pink ball Tests so far. More importantly, it is the pacers who dominate the Day-Night Test matches. The only Day-Night Test match ever played in India (Kolkata) in 2019 is a huge testament to the fact. The Indian pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami destroyed Bangladesh batting – with spinners R.Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had a little role to play.

– Indian bowlers took 19 wickets in the match and all went to the pacers
– Indian spinners Ashwin & Jadeja bowled just 7 Overs in two innings without success

So will India still continue with 3 Spinners in the line up like the first two Tests or will they opt to include another seamer in the line up? This is the big question Indian team management will have to answer in the next 72 hours. As per the information coming in from the team sources, Motera’s wicket status will be key to the Indian team management decision making.
Who will Motera wicket aid? No one knows much about the wicket status at this stage. The pictures coming in from Motera shows wickets have a tinge of green but it will be interesting to see if the grass on the wicket remains till 24th Feb,
A few days back Syed Mushtaq Ali Final was played at the venue and according to Baroda’s Smit Patel, the Motera wicket was damp on the side. The final was held on a red-soil track with extra assistance from spinners. On such tracks, the ball tends to come low and Bumrah could make use of his variations to stun English batters.
So will India bench Kuldeep Yadav for extra pacer?  In case India shuns 3 spinner theory, Kuldeep Yadav will be the one who will be benched for the sake of an extra seamer. India can go in the Pink-Ball test with 3 pacer attack i.e Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma & Mohammed Siraj.

India Likely XI for 3rd Test: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma,Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-captain)Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), R Ashwin, Axar Patel,Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah

Meanwhile, the report coming in from England camp is that James Anderson will be coming back in the England line up to share a new-ball with Stuart Broad.
