India Player Rating vs ENG: Rohit, Axar & Kuldeep completes 2022 revenge, take Men in Blue to T20 WC Final

India gave a proper drubbing to England, clinching a handsome win by 68 runs to march into the finals. However, how did the 11 Indians fare in this lop-sided clash?

The 2022 revenge has finally been taken by Rohit Sharma’s men, who scripted a remarkable win to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 finals. Rohit’s belligerent knock, and the web spun around by the Indian tweaker (Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav) ran through the English team.

India Player Ratings vs ENG: Who scored 10/10?

Rohit Sharma (9/10): Rohit Sharma’s batting was incredible! After his blistering 92 against AUS, the Hitman led from the front once again as he blasted 57 runs off 39 deliveries. Despite losing Kohli and Pant early in the innings, he played the dual role of anchor and aggressor at various points of the game. Regardless, he lost his wicket at a wrong time. Otherwise, India would’ve surely breached past 200!

Virat Kohli (2/10): It looked we are in for a Virat Kohli special when he slapped one wristy six off Topley. Agonizingly, two balls later, he was clean bowled with a superb good-length delivery. Playing against his natural self, Kohli tried to overdo and lost his crucial wicket. The horror of T20 World Cup 2024 continued King Kohli, who has averaged an appalling 10.71 and has scored only 75 runs in the tournament thus far.

Rishabh Pant (1/10): While he did hit one great cut through off side to Archer, Pant slashed one straight to mid-wicket off Sam Curran’s delivery. The southpaw could’ve been a vital key in India’s batting today but failed to make a mark (4 off 6).

Suryakumar Yadav (8.5/10): After Rohit, SKY was the second-highest run-getter for India. The flamboyant dasher played a key knock, hammering 48 runs at a decent strike rate of 130.56. He was dismissed while playing a six but his shot when he guided Sam Curran’s off-stump delivery over the point region was undoubtedly was one of the shots of the game!

Shivam Dube (0/10): And the mediocre tournament for Dube continued. Add to his misery, the southpaw was dismissed for a golden duck, doing no favors at all!

Hardik Pandya (8.4/10): A brief but vital stay at the crease for KungFu Pandya, who struck at a rate of 176.9, which ultimately guided the Men in Blue to the winning score. His twin sixes off Chris Jordan brought the momentum to India that was badly required after the team lost Rohit and SKY in quick succession.

Ravindra Jadeja (8.5/10): Jadeja was India’s most average player going into this match. However, in the semifinal, his contribution went rather unnoticed. Jaddu scored a crucial 9-ball 17* in the death and his economy of 5.3 after 3 overs was also brilliant.

Axar Patel (10/10): Wow! Bappu was simply sensational for India. Despite bowling two overs inside the powerplay, he single-handedly turned the match in India’s favor, getting the breakthrough through Buttler’s wicket. He then went on to dismiss Moeen Ali and Bairstow, returning with exceptional figures of 3/23.

Kuldeep Yadav (9.5/10): Kuldeep Yadav spun a web and was almost unplayable on what was a spinning deck in Guyana. Similar to Axar, the chinaman took three wickets and was taken away for just 19. English batters had no clue whatsoever on how to tackle the mastery of Kuldeep.

Jasprit Bumrah (9/10): The wonder T20 World Cup 2024 tournament continued for the great man, who bamboozled Phil Salt with a peach of a delivery (off-cutter in this case). Bumrah also finished the proceedings, thus ending with exceptional figures of 2/12.

Arshdeep Singh (4/10): Despite enjoying some movement up front, Arshdeep Singh failed to get any wickets. With the pitch stopping, he even tried to barge in slower balls but English openers hit him for 17 runs off 2 overs.
