India fans wary of Pakistan threat on ‘dangerous’ Nassau pitch after two innings below 100

With the 'drop-in' pitch being used in New York, batters have found it extremely to hold their guard. The surface has so far been quite conducive to swing and seam!

The two teams that have batted first at the newly built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in the T20 World Cup 2024 thus far have made 77 and 96. If Sri Lanka were hurried by Anrich Nortje’s lethal pace, then Irish batters had no answers to the questions posed by the Indian pacers. Hosting international cricket for the first time, the Nassau pitch have been nightmare for batters thus far. This has led for Indian fans to understandably feel worried about their team’s batting prospects when they face a potent Pakistani pace attack on this very surface.

A trouble-making Nassau Pitch !

Irish batters, unlike their Sri Lankan counterparts who fell prey to Anrich Nortje’s express pace, were undone by a potent Indian bowling attack. Arshdeep Singh drew first two blood with impressive seam and swing display, while the impeccable duo of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah ran riot through the middle and lower order. The pitch, directly transferred from Adelaide has certainly not put up a great display of T20 cricket in America, who are hosting their first ever ICC mega event.

Fans in stress over what can happen in IND vs PAK T20 WC game!

This is logically left fans question in worry. The Nassau County pitch, while offering something for the pacers, has been excessively brutal towards batsmen so far. With a fiery Pakistani pace attack awaiting them, Indian supporters have reason to be nervous. The likes of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf are known for their pace and ability to dance batsmen on their tunes. If the pitch behaves similarly, India’s top order could be in for a stern test.
