India Cricket Team camp in Bengaluru, Short camp for Women’s Team before Asian Games

Indian Cricket Team set for training camp in Bengaluru ahead of Asiad tournament

The Indian Cricket Team will undergo a training camp in Bengaluru before traveling to China for the Asian Games 2023. Both Men’s and Women’s Team will undergo a strengthing camp set to begin next week. The Indian Women’s Cricket team will have a short camp as they will depart early, but Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co will get 2 weeks of time to prepare for the Asiad tournament.

The Men’s camp under the guidance of VVS Laxman is slated to start on 12th September and will continue till 24th September. On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur and Co will have a short camp. The Indian eves will train for 4 days from 13th to 16th September before flying off to Hangzhou.

“This camp will be valuable for many players who will be gaining experience in a multi-sport competition like the Asian Games,” a source informed Cricbuzz.

The Women’s team under the guidance of Hrishikesh Kantikar will have a short camp of just 4 days as the Indian eves will depart for China on 17th September. However, since the Men’s competition will commence at a much later date i.e 26th September and thus Ruturaj and his side will get 12 days of practice camp at Bengaluru.

The women’s matches will be held from 19th to 28th September on the other hand, the Men’s matches will take place from 26th September to 8th October. All the matches will be held in T20 format. Both the Men’s and the Women’s Team will take part in the tournament directly from the Quarterfinals stage.

Women’s team skipper Harmanrpreet Kaur will serve a 2-match Ban and can make an appearance for the team if India reaches the finals. Apart from the team, it is difficult for the additional members and the standby players to travel with the squad owing to restrictions laid in the Games Village.

Standbys: Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Sai Sudharsan.
