India Cricket Schedule: International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced the schedule for Men’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the next four years on Wednesday (August 17). ICC released the 2023-27 FTP in which 12 full members will play a whopping number of 777 international matches. India are due to play five crucial and big series in the next four years. India Cricket Schedule: Five big series for Rohit Sharma and co in the next four years, including India tour of Australia and South Africa

India Cricket Schedule: Rohit Sharma and co will like to put their best foot forward in all the series. But these five series will eventually determine India’s dominance in overseas conditions against big teams like Australia and South Africa.

1. India Tour of Australia

India will look to solidify their stranglehold in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they will travel Down Under in December 2024-25 to play five Test matches. The Rohit Sharma-led side have won two back-to-back Test series in Australia in 2018-19, and 2021-21. In the 2004-25 Test series also India will look to make a hattrick of series wins Down Under.

“I think it’s a great initiative as it’s the closest contest to an Ashes series for the Australian team,” former Australia captain Steve Waugh told to Cricbuzz. 

“It is a bonus for Australia, which is due to begin serious negotiations on another broadcast deal,” The Australian reported about the financial gain of the expansion.

2. Australia Tour of India

The Men in Yellow will look to break their Border-Gavaskar Trophy draught in India when they will tour India in February 2023. Australia last won the Test series in India way back in 2004. The Pat Cummins-led side are in good form though and they have won the Test series in Pakistan 1-0 and drew 1-1 against Sri Lanka. 

This will be important Test series for Rohit Sharma as a win will propel them to yet another WTC final appearance.

3. England Tour of India

England will tour India for five Test matches in January 2024. The Ben Stokes-led side are playing an attacking brand of cricket in the Test format under Brendon McCullum. This series will be fascinating to watch as Indian spinners will be up against attacking English batters. England have not won a Test series in India since 2010. India will look to keep that record intact.

4. India Tour of New Zealand 

India will battle it out with the Kane Williamson-led side in three Tests and three T20Is right after the T20 World Cup 2022. The series will begin in November and the Rohit Sharma-led side has a chance to correct their dismal record in New Zealand. The team were whitewashed 2-0 in Tests in 2020. All the batters had a poor series. This time around, India will be looking to put on a better display and hope the win a Test series in New Zealand after 15 years.

5. India Tour of South Africa 

India are yet to win a Test series in South Africa since 32 years. They will get another chance in making history when they tour the rainbow nation for two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is in December 2023-24. India came close to winning a Test series in 2006 and again in 2022. But on both occasions, they faltered in the end. In the 2023-24 series, India has a chance to win a Test series and also show to the world they can be dangerous overseas too.
