India at T20 WC – Excuses List Growing for Team India: India’s World Cup campaign in UAE has been nothing less than disappointing. Even before the last league game vs Namibia, India’s exit from T20 World Cup is confirmed. None of the Indian player turned up for the official Press-Conference today & instead team’s bowling coach Bharat Arun was sent to answer the barrage of questions by the journalists.

And when the bouncers were hurled at him, he like Jasprit Bumrah couple of days ago has blamed fatigue and less gap between IPL 2021 & T20 World Cup as one of the reason for India’s pathetic performance in the ongoing World Cup.

“Being on the road for six months is a huge ask, the players have not gone home ever since they had a short break after the last IPL. They are in a bubble for the last six months, which takes a huge toll. So very specific to your question, a short break between the IPL and World Cup would have done a lot of good for these boys.”

India at T20 WC: Excuses & blame game starts for India’s world cup debacle, bowling coach says ‘break between IPL 2021 & WC was required’

India at T20 WC – Excuses list Growing? Reason for debacle in World Cup did not end their for Arun. Then in an answer to other question, he blamed UNDUE ADVANTAGE of TOSS at the World Cup as one of the reason of India’s defeat in the first two matches.

“Obviously, we are a very good side, we started as tournament favourites. It was unfortunate that we lost the first two games, which put us in a very precarious position.

I am not trying to give any excuses, but I think the toss plays a very vital role in any match,” said Arun during the virtual press conference.

“Toss should not be of any consequence but here the toss gives a very undue advantage, there is a huge change between batting in first innings and batting in second innings, which should not be the case in a very short format like this,” he added.

IND vs NAM LIVE: Bharat Arun laments absence of short break for Team India between IPL 2021 and T20 World Cup

India at T20 WC – IND vs NAM LIVE: Talking about whether India missed the services of Yuzvendra Chahal in the World Cup, Arun said,

“That is for the selectors to decide, we can only play with the team that has been given to us and I would not like to delve too much into that.”

It is worth noting that Arun along with coach Ravi Shastri is ending his stint with team India at the end of World Cup & his last day in office is likely to be India’s last league game vs Namibia.
