Just a day remains before the India vs Australia mouth-watering World Cup final. But as fans gear for an epic contest, former cricketers and pundits have made their predictions. Hosts, India are tipped to win the contest as per the prediction of the majority of the pundits.
India has been dominant throughout the tournament. Rohit Sharma and Co are unbeaten in the competition and are currently on a 10-man unbeaten streak. With just a solitary game remaining, India will be keen to continue their fine form and go on to lift the silverware on 19th November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Speaking to the official broadcasters former Australia cricketer Shane Watson tipped India as the favorites in the finals. “India are the favorites for sure. To be able to play in Ahmedabad, they are playing incredibly good cricket. Everyone is in great form, they are performing under pressure and everyone is at the peak of their powers right now,” said Shane Watson.
“I will speculate India because I think all of their batting at some point in the tournament has clicked and the bowling has shown great composure. All around as I stand here I am a little more confident in the all-around performance of India,” added Ian Bishop as his prediction.

“I think India going in as the absolute heavy favorites. They are playing unbelievable cricket. They have played flawless cricket. My heart says Australia, my head says India,” opined former Australia skipper Aaron Finch.
“If you ask me, then it is India. Because, truly due to the brand of cricket that they have been playing. They have been absolute in all departs. Look it will be a good final, but India are very strong at this moment,” claimed Imran Tahir.

“India has the advantage. Given the kind of cricket that India has played, even Australia has been unable to play that brand, they have been unable to dominate the game like India,” said former World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir.
“For me, India will win and India should win after how they have played. There will also be the added advantage of the home condition and form in which the players are, I think India will finish the campaign by winning the World Cup,” added Irfan Pathan.
Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly too has tipped India as the favorites. “India is in unbelievable form. All the best wishes to the team from my side. The team has played well and now just a game remains. And we have to win it against Australia. If the team plays the final like they have done in the previous games then the trophy is ours,” said Ganguly.
Steve Waugh however has claimed that Australia will win. “Till now Australia has been terrific. If Pat Cummins win the trophy it will be a new feather on his cap.”
