India vs Pakistan Final Highlights: Pakistan A team thrashed India A in the final to lift the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 trophy. The Men in Green juniors, who have 7 capped players in the squad registered a 128-run win over arch-rivals India. Batting first, Pakistan set a massive 353-run target for India after Tayyab Tahir hammered a 71-ball 108 and Saim Ayub (59) & Sahibzada Farhan (65) powered Pakistan A to 352/8. Ayub and Farhan set the tone with a 121-run opening stand, outplaying India. While India came back in the game with Riyan Parag bagging two quick wickets, Tahir set the tone with some explosive batting. He and Mubashir Khan added 126-run stand to take the match away from Indai.

In reply, despite Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant half-century, Team India failed to put on big partnerships and were bundled out for 224 in 40 overs.

Tayyab Tahir was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant knock, while India’s Nishant Sindhu was picked as Player of the Tournament for picking 12 wickets in the tournament.

Indian skipper Yash Dhull blamed poor shot selection as reason for big loss.

“They batted very well, we controlled it well in the middle, but they batted well. It was a big target but we played some poor shots. The decision was okay, but they batted well and the wicket was also fresh. We played some bad shots [at three wickets down] and went down from there. None of us have played international cricket so it was a good platform for us to play and a good environment”, Dhull said in post match presentation.
