With this win, India have moved to top spot in the points table. Pakistan Women have slid down to second place. India in previous two matches have defeated SriLanka and Malaysia-W. So, this win over UAE Women is their third straight win.
India were trying to give everyone a game and some match time as well. India made some changes in the squad, and even regular skipper Harmanpreet Kaur sat out the game. Smriti Mandhana took over the captaincy for the match.
The experiementation did not end there as Mandhana did not even open the innings. Richa Ghosh and Sabbhineni Meghana opened the innings for India, but they were in trouble early on. They were 19/3 after Hemalatha was also dismissed cheaply.

It is at the juncture the experience and class of Jemimah ROdrigues and Deepti SHarma took over. The two looked in top form, dealing in boundaries. As the game progressed they gradually changed gears as well. They were involved in a 100-run stand as India women looked in strong position.

Deepthi fell for 49-ball 64, which included five fours and two sixe. Rodrigues did even well, scoring an unbeaten 45-ball 75 to push their team towards 178/5.
The target was always going to be massive. And when they lost three wickets for five runs, the writing was clear on the walls for them. However, the UAE Women did not show any fighting effort to chase down the score. They only managed 74/4 as Rajeshwari Gayakwad scalped two wickets.
