“The team will arrive in Sri Lanka on June 18. The first ODI is scheduled to take place on June 23, while the first T20I will be held on July 3. The tour will end with the last T20I on July 7. Even the Australian men’s cricket team is touring Lanka around the same time. So cricket shouldn’t be affected by that,” a source told TOI.

India would then travel to Birmingham to feature in the Commonwealth Games, followed by a series against England. The team will play three ODIs and three T20Is, with a potential series finale at Lord’s. The BCCI had requested for a Test match as well, but England’s busy schedule along with the Hundred meant that only limited-overs games were feasible.

“The BCCI requested the English Cricket Board to schedule a Test, but ECB couldn’t accede to the request, citing a busy schedule, which includes the ‘Hundred’ too, for them,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Ramesh Powar will continue despite India’s shocking exit from the Women’s World Cup. Powar was severely criticised and questioned but the BCCI have backed him for another year, ending his deal until the T20 World Cup next year.
