IND-W vs NZ-W: India Women’s Cricket Team register dominant win, begin preparations for ODI World Cup

India Women's Cricket Team took revenge on the White Ferns for their Loss in the T20 World Cup

The Women’s ODI World Cup is in 2025. And the India Women’s Cricket Team has begun their preparations for the same with a dominating win over the Kiwis. The current T20 World Cup champions were blown apart from the hosts after a sensational all-round performances by Smriti Mandhana and Co.

Radha Yadav with her three-wicket haul and debutant Tejal Hasabnis’s 42 run knock was enough for the hosts to register a 59 run win. Batting first Team India went on to amass 227. Shafali Varma and Yastika Bhatia contributed 33 and 37 runs respectively in the top order.

All-Round Performance from India seals Win

But the crucial runs came from Tejal Hasabnis and Deepti Sharma’s 42 and 41 respectively. On the other hand, Amelia Kerr was sensation with the ball. She went on to claim a stunning four-fer to restrict the charge of the Indians.

But India proved great with the ball. The hosts didn’t allow Sophie Devine and Co to settle down easily. India unleashed their rampage on the recent T20 World Cup winners to exact revenge of the group stage loss. Radha Yadav’s 3 wicket haul coupled with a 2 scalps from another debutant Saima Thakor was enough for the hosts to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

As the ODI World Cup 2025 draws near, Team India would be busy to keep their momentum up and running. India can only boost their confidence if they provide such masterclasses and will hope to continue to do so.
