IND W vs AUS W: Harmanpreet Kaur’s 54 go in vain, Australia go into semis with a 9-run win

Catch what all happened during the mega ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 clash between India and Australia.

IND W vs AUS W: Australia have put 151 runs on the board after winning the toss and opting to bowl first. This is the first time in this Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 that a side has scored over 150 runs at Sharjah. Team India needs to win to improve their semifinal qualification chances. Shafali Verma started the chase on a positive note before getting holed out at 20. Smriti Mandhana was plummed in front of the stumps. Jemimah Rodrigues was looking in great touch but even she was caught on the boundary. Then came Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who stitched a 63-run stand with Deepti Sharma. While India were behind the required run-rate for the entire innings, Harmanpreet kept the side in the game. However, four wickets in the last over and some impressive death bowling by Australia saw them beat IND by 9 runs. India can now qualify for semi-final only if Pakistan beat New Zealand on October 14.
