AUS-W beat IND-W 2nd T20I: Australia Women register 4 wickets win in 2nd T20I, win the multi-format series: Australia batters held their nerve to beat India by 4 wickets in a low-scoring in the second of the three T20Is in Carrara Oval, Queensland. AUS-W beat IND-W 2nd T20I: Australia Women register 4 wickets win in 2nd T20I, take 1-0 lead in T20I series

Opting to bowl, Australia Women were completely dominant throughout the first innings as they reduced the Harmanpreet Kaur led outfit at 24/3 inside the powerplay. Barring skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (28 off 20), Deepti Sharma (16 off 11) and Pooja Vastrakar (37* off 26) none of the Indian batter managed to reach in double figures. Tayla Vlaeminck and Sophie Molineux picked two wickets each for the home side.

For India, Rajeshwari Gayakwad scalped three wickets while Shikha Pandey, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma returned with one wicket apiece. Earlier put into bat, a brilliant Pooja Vastrakar cameo masked a fairly disappointing show from India. After Tayla Vlaeminck removed both openers inside the first three overs, the Aussies ran riot. It was an Indian innings characterised by poor shot selection and calamitous running between the wickets. But the Vastrakar cameo (top-scoring with 37* off 26) certainly kept them in the contest.

The first T20I between India and Australia Women had been called off due to persistent rain on Thursday. The abandonment saw both teams receiving a point each towards the series. The third and final T20I will be played at the same venue tomorrow, October 10.
