IND-W U19 World Cup: On Sunday, India defeated England in the maiden ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final. Having lost Shafali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat early in the chase after scoring a meagre 69, G Trisha and Soumya Tiwari established a strong alliance to lead India home.
As England’s batting once again struggled in a crucial game, India bowled them out for a pitiful 68. The in-form Liberty Heap was taken out by Titas Sadhu in the opening over, and off-spinner Archana Devi also bowled brilliantly to dent England early. As England’s batting order was helpless, the other bowlers chipped in with frequent wickets.

While India U19 Women’s team triumphed in the World Cup, the senior Men’s team beat New Zealand in the second T20I of the three match series in Lucknow. India defeated the Kiwis in a tight contest by six wickets to level the series at one game each.
India were having problems chasing a low score of 100 on a difficult surface after being reduced to 50/3 in 10.4 overs, but Suryakumar Yadav once again displayed his prowess. SKY played a significant knock (26 off 31), built important partnerships with Washington Sundar (10) and Hardik Pandya (15 not out), and ultimately scored the winning boundary for India in the last over.
