Apart from the return of KL Rahul, young opener Shubman Gill will also don the Blue jersey but will have a change in his batting position in the Zimbabwe series. The opening duo for the Men in Blue would be the combination of KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan. Gill will be slotted in the middle order to accommodate the returning KL Rahul.
Ahead of his ODI debut, Rahul Tripathi was seen taking a good look at the pitch. The youngster who impressed everyone with his performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will get a chance to showcase his talent for the national squad. It can be assumed that Tripathi will bat at the No. 3 spot.

Young wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was spotted in all smiles at the India practice session. Kishan will face competition from Sanju Samson and will contest for the spot in the playing XI. Though India has traveled to Zimbabwe with a second squad as the main squad prepares for the upcoming Asia Cup squad.

Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the series after injuring his left shoulder in England. As a replacement, youngster Shahbaz Ahmed has been slotted in as his replacement. This series will be extremely important for KL Rahul and Deepak Chahar who would be returning to the field after a long span of injury.
