IND vs WI T20 Series – Rohit Sharma Record T20: India captain Rohit Sharma was seen at his fluent best on Friday as he scored an eye-catching knock of 64 runs. In doing so Rohit created two WORLD RECORDS. The champion India batsman now has become the highest scorer in the T20 International going past Martin Guptill. WORLD RECORD 1: Rohit Sharma Surpasses martin Guptill for most runs in T20

Rohit Sharma on Friday once again  became the leading run scorer in T20 format as he went past Martin Guptill. Rohit needed 21 runs on Friday to go past the New Zealand batter and it didn’t take long for him to achieve that.

As things stand, Rohit has 3443 runs to his name in 129 matches while Guptill is now on 3399 runs in 116 matches at the international stage.

Guptill is closely followed by former India captain Virat Kohli (3,308). Ireland’s ODI skipper Paul Stirling is next with 2,894 Runs. Australian captain Aaron Finch is fifth on the list with 2,855 runs.

WORLD RECORD 2: Most 50’s in T20: The 2nd world record on Friday was the MOST 50’s in T20 Cricket. Rohit scored his 31st score of 5o plus as he went past Virat Kohli. The Most 50’s in T20 Cricket list has big names like Babar Azam, T20 World Cup winner David Warner and Martin Guptill.

With the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup around the corner, this was the perfect time for Rohit to bounce back in form.

31 – Rohit Sharma*

30 – Virat Kohli

27 – Babar Azam

23 – David Warner

22 – Martin Guptill

Rohit plays impressive knock

This was Rohit’s first fifty in T20 format in the 2022 calendar year. Adding another feature to his cap, the India skipper went on to also score his first fifty in West Indies. Back among scoring runs, Sharma and the Men in Blue will look to seal this series against the Caribbean side as India prepares for the upcoming Asia Cup.

Despite a stellar show it was, Dinesh Karthik that stole the spotlight and was named the ‘Player of the Match’.
