IND vs WI: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma looked pro-active on the field against West Indies on Day 1. The home team won the toss and opted to have a bat first on a dry looking surface. However, it did not take long for the Indian bowlers to blow away WI top-order. The spinners also played their part with Rohit using his bowlers very well.

Meanwhile, the visitors have managed to be on the top as they have scalped 8 wickets with veteran Ravichandran Ashwin completing 700 International wickets. None of the batters except Alick Athanaze managed to stay on the crease for long. The debutant applied himself on the crease and played every ball on its merit.
Meanwhile, the home team decided to drop wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharath as Ishan Kishan made his Test debut. Yashashvi Jaiswal was also given his debut cap. The Southpaw is set to open the Indian innings alongside skipper Rohit. Shubman Gill will play at the third spot with Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane following him next.
