The first ODI on 6th February will be India’s 1000th ODI — a milestone no team has ever achieved. Incidentally, the 1000th match will also mark the beginning of a new cycle. After a 3-0 drubbing in South Africa, under the new leadership of Rohit Sharma, India will begin preparations for the 2023 World Cup.
After Virat Kohli was removed from ODI captaincy, KL Rahul took charge temporarily for the South Africa series as Rohit Sharma was nursing a hamstring injury. Now, Rohit Sharma will be back to lead the side.
