IND vs WI 1st ODI: Mohammed Siraj last over tension: Shreyas Iyer dance:  The India vs West Indies first ODI had everything. Besides the good Caribbean music there was quality batting, bowling, high scoring contest and a nail-biting finish. How did it happen? It was evident that Siraj had a plan, and that was to aim the batters toe with yorkers. That meant no chance for the batters to get under the ball and smash it. His ploy of bowling in the tramline and the yorkers yielded result, the two Windies batters could not take him for bug runs.

Siraj revealed that the ball was also reversing, which came to his aid at the Queens Park Oval. “They need 15 runs. I was executing my yorkers well, and I was backing myself. The ball was also reversing a bit so I was trying my best to execute those yorkers in the final over,” said Siraj in conversation with Iyer in a BCCI video.

However, he did show some signs of nerves in the penultimate ball, which was a wide. The equation changed. In the last ball, WestIndies needed four for a super over and six for the home team to win. But Siraj prevailed.

“My heart beat also became faster (after wide ball). Representing the country is always a big things and especially at such times….The previous four balls were good, and I was able to back that and the result also, we got in our favour.  The ball was reversing and that helped me as it was giving me confidence,” said Siraj.

Iyer explains his impromptu dance: As the conversation between Iyer and Siraj moved into a lighter tone, the latter asked why he was dancing along with the crowd.

“The crowd behind me and they were kind of teasing me and asking me to drop a teach. SO when a catch came to me, I caught it and danced like them only,” said Iyer, who showed off his dancing moves in the video too.
