First T20 started at 8 PM IST

The first T20 between India and WestIndies started at 8:00 PM IST as it was the standard time for the entire T20 series. India won the contest and took a 1-0 lead in the series thanks to the arrivals of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

The encounter took place the Brian Lara international stadium. The timings were convenient for bot the Indian as well the Caribbean fans.

2nd T20 delayed due to late Luggage arrival

The second T20 between India and West Indies at Warner Park was pushed to start at 1:30 pm (11 pm India) due to a delay in the arrival of team luggage. The match was originally slated to begin at 8 pm IST on Monday. However, the match started at 11:00 PM for the Indian fans and were asked to stay awake late night to enjoy the second T20.

Thanks to a stellar performance from Obed McCoy, WestIndies were able to register their first win of the entire Indian tour. McCoy scalped six wickets in the second T20 to level the series at 1-1.

3rd T20 pushed back by 90 minutes

  • With less than 15 hours gap between the second and third T20, the WestIndies Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unanimously agreed to delay the third T20 by 90 minutes.
  • Thus the third T20 started at 9:30 PM IST as the match timings were changed for the third consecutive game.
  • One of the main reason for the change in time was the fatigue factor as the players were not able to rest properly before the third T20.
  • India clinched the third T20 thanks to a dominating bating show by Suryakumar Yadav as he amassed 76 runs in just 44 deliveries to lead the Indian side home.
