Rohit Sharma was appointed as the ODI captain of India ahead of the recently-concluded series against South Africa, but the Nagpur-born cricketer miss the series because of an injury. He is now back in the firing line and back in form, scoring a fifty in his first match as the full-time captain of the Indian ODI team.

Chasing a meagre target of 177, India were always the favourites to win but they needed a solid start from their openers, and Sharma obliged. He played a fantastic knock of 60 runs from only 51 deliveries, which included 10 fours and one six as well. Former Mumbai Indians teammate Alzarri Joseph managed to trap the Mumbai lad leg before wicket, but it was already too late as India were cruising in the driver’s seat.
