Sanju Samson walked into bat as India lost three quick wickets in their chase of a mammoth 312. Samson however played a mature knock, rebuilding India’s innings alongside Shreyas Iyer. Having taken some time early, the 27-year-old took a full toll on the West Indian attack to keep the Men in Blue in the game.

He eventually scored his maiden ODI half-century, lacing the innings with three boundaries and three sixes. Samson and Shreyas put on 99 for the fourth wicket, to set up the game for the lower order to finish. Watch the highlights of Samson’s fifty here:

The Rajasthan Royals captain slammed his maiden T20I fifty earlier in this month against Ireland and followed it up with a 54 on Sunday.
