Nicholas Pooran’s auction price of Rs 10.75 raised a few eyebrows after an abysmal IPL 2021 campaign. Furthermore, his complete loss of form in ODIs too didn’t help the cause. It was considered a big gamble by Sunrisers Hyderabad when they pipped KKR and CSK to pick the West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman.

After Nicholas Pooran bagged a fat contract from SRH, the West Indies team was in a celebratory mood ahead of 1st T20 vs India in Kolkata. Most of the Caribbean players have bagged MEGA-IPL contracts at IPL 2022 AUCTION. West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran also celebrated his 10.75 Cr pay-cheque from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pooran gave a pizza party for his teammates, ordering 15 pizzas that cost him Rs 15,000.

“Since outside food is not allowed he placed the order at the hotel chef for 15 pizzas. It needed to be vetted by a qualified chef. Since it’s a strict grade one biobubble we have to tell the food temperature and how it is sanitised and then only it goes to the room. There were a total of 15 pizza boxes and everything was sanitised before being delivered to the room. The player had to make the payment,” the local manager told PTI.

As the team is in a grade one bio-bubble, everything had to be sanitised and even the temperature had to be maintained.
