IND vs WI: After T20 series victory over WestIndies, skipper Rohit Sharma impressed with India’s brand of cricket says ‘we played good cricket to win’
Rohit delighted after sealing T20 Series
Rohit praised the Indian side and how they deserved to win the contest “I think it was pleasing how we played the game. The conditions were not easy but we got to a good score. A lot of thought went in on how we batted and it was pleasing to see.
“The pitch was quite slow which our bowlers used to their advantage. I thought 190 was a good score, but with the kind of batting that WI have, no score is good.
“We played good cricket to get the win today. The batters were really smart and the bowlers bowled in pairs to get wickets. It put the brakes on their scoring,” said Sharma.

Sharma had special gesture for Avesh Khan, who was adjudged the Man Of The Match award for his fine spell. The India captain said that the team management understands the pacer’s talent and wants to give the players enough time in the middle.

Rishabh and Rohit shine with bat
Rohit (33) and Pant (44) were the main contributors, while Axar Patel struck some meaty blows towards the end to finish unbeaten on 20 off 8 balls. West Indies left-arm pacer Obed McCoy was smoked for 66 runs off his 4 overs only a week after taking a career-best six-wicket haul in the second ODI. It was the most expensive spell by a West Indies bowler in T20s.
Rohit’s 33 in a stand of 53 in less than five overs set the tone and gave other batters time and confidence to go after the bowling. The cushion of the strike rate gave Pant and Deepak Hooda (21 off 19 balls) close to six overs to produce a 47-run stand, which was the launch pad for the final flourish from Axar.
