Pooran registered scores of 73 (ODI) and 74* (T20I) in the last two games West Indies played at Providence Stadium, Guyana.

IND vs WI 2nd T20: Team India is set to take on West Indies in the second T20I to be played on August 6 (Sunday). The second match will be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana and the Men in Blue will be aware of the challenges set to be put in front of them. Taking care of Nicholas Pooran might be one of the prominent challenge team India might face.

To note, Pooran registered scores of 73 (ODI) and 74* (T20I) in the last two games West Indies played at this venue. In the first T20I, the left-handed batter came to the crease after both openers fell quickly. Wasting no time, Pooran took on the attack on Yuzvendra Chahal. With wickets falling around, the Southpaw had to slow down a touch before he was scalped by opposition skipper Pandya.

Before playing against India, Pooran had smashed an unbeaten century in the final match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) finals and helped his side to win the opening edition and clinch the trophy.

After losing the opening encounter by 4 runs, the visitors will be eyeing a comeback in the second T20I in Guyana. Indian batting looked fidgety in the first match. However, debutant Tilak Varma impressed with the bat and will want to continue his good run with the bat. The likes of Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan will also want to make an impact with the bat in the second encounter.
