West Indies rejuvenated by Key Returns
The WestIndies players were seen training in the nets and breaking sweat to prepare for the first T20. The likes of Odean Smith, Keemo Paul were seen training in the nets as they prepared for the crunch encounter. The WestIndies have been in good form in the T20Is compared to their ODI form.
The team led by Nicholas Pooran had a good outing in the T20I series against Bangladesh and won it convincingly, but India are a different breed altogether.
The hosts will have a new dimension to the side as they have opted to bring the likes of Shimron Hetmyer back in the team along with Jason Holder and Odean Smith.
Jason Holder back in the team
After missing the ODI series after testing positive for Covid-19, Holder is back in frame for the T20 series. The versatile all-rounder has tons of experience in the shorter format and will be a key member in the five-match T20 series. He recently played in the IPL with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
West Indies Announce T20 Squad
The Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the India National Cricket Team and the three-match T20 series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. With eye on the New Zealand series as well, the West Indies recalled Shimron Hetmyer while Nicholas Pooran continues to lead the side.

Hetmyer could be the X factor
Star left-handed batter Shimron Hetmyer has received a recall for the upcoming T20 games against India and New Zealand while pacer Sheldon Cottrell and all-rounder Fabian Allen are unavailable for selection. Sheldon is currently recovering from injury and Allen is unavailable for personal reasons. Hetmyer with his ability to dominate attacks could prove to the X factor for WestIndies in the series.
