On Sunday, although India lost to Pakistan in Asia Cup Super-4 clash, Virat Kohli signalled a return to form. He played a fluent 44-ball 60-run knock to take India to 181/7. However, some excellent batting by Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz took Pakistan home with a ball to spare.

However, Kohli’s return to form is a blessing for Team India ahead of T20 World Cup. With KL Rahul also hitting top gear on Sunday, there are many positives for Team India despite the loss.

Last week, Kohli did look rusty in his approach against Pakistan. But there was an element of confidence in his game on Sunday against the same opposition. He dictated play when he wanted to and showed good signs that he is adapting to the team’s new template.

Former India cricketer Karsan Ghavri believes Kohli has done well in the Asia Cup. He has applauded his approach with the bat of late. Kohli has scores of 35, 59 not out and 60 in the three matches. There is a common factor in all these scores. He has tried his best to score at a brisk rate.

“Everyone goes through a lean patch, one time or the other, but Virat Kohli has come on track. Look at his last three scores, all of them have been so good in the Asia Cup. These are all good signs for India. It is good to see him bat the way he did (in an aggressive manner),” Karsan Ghavri told InsideSport.
