IND vs SL Live: Kuldeep Yadav not dropped – It was a surprise to see Kuldeep Yadav being dropped from the Test team for 2nd Test without playing a match after being given a recall. However, Vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah has revealed that Kuldeep Yadav was not dropped from the team. Instead, he was given a rest due to bio-bubble fatigue. It was not clear when the BCCI selectors let go of Kuldeep Yadav without giving him a game to play in place of the returning Axar Patel in the team for the second pink-ball Test in Bengaluru. Yadav’s exclusion yet again created a furore that he was dropped without getting an opportunity.

“See, we have not removed him from the team. He has been in the bubble for a long time and hence he has been released. Staying in a bubble is not easy. The mental aspect is important,” said Jasprit Bumrah in the presser ahead of the second Test.

However, despite the storyline of bio-bubble fatigue, Jasprit Bumrah made it clear why Axar Patel was the preferred left-arm spinner. He said he brings a lot of value to the team due to his skills with both bat and ball.

“Axar Patel has added a lot of value whenever he has played, has contributed a lot, and offers a lot in all departments. He was injured but he jumps straight back in when he’s fit. We’ll discuss our combination but of course, he’s valuable,” Jasprit Bumrah said.
