Rohit Sharma Interview: In an interview with BCCI.tv, the 34-year-old revealed that he had never harboured the dream of leading the Indian side in whites. “It is a huge honour to be captaining India and be part of the list. It is something I never dreamt of,” said Sharma.

The 34-year-old might not have been brilliant with the bat, having scored only 29 runs, but his captaincy was absolutely on point – with effective bowling changes, mostly correct DRS calls and also the shrewd decision of enforcing follow-on on the Lankans.

Besides his cricketing decisions, Sharma also garnered praises for organizing a guard of honour for his predecessor, Virat Kohli, who was playing his 100th Test match. He also acknowledged Kohli’s efforts over the years by saying “The whole credit goes to Virat for where we stand in this format. What he has done with the Test team over the years was brilliant to see.”
