“Niroshan Dickwella and Dhananjaya De Silva have been drafted into the T20I squad in place of injured Kusal Mendis and Maheesh Theekshana,” the SLC said in a statement.
The duo is in tremendous form and performed exceedingly well in the domestic games. They will look to emulate their great run in India.

The development comes as Maheesh Theekshana and Kusal Mendis have been ruled out of the T20I series against India.
“Both Mendis and Theekshana suffered hamstring injuries during the 5th T20I vs Australia. Maheesh Theekshana will return home, whilst Wanindu Hasaranga also will return home from Australia,” SLC added.
“Both players reached Lucknow on Thursday morning. They are quarantined for two days in the hotel (same hotel where both the teams are staying),” said a report published in cric-intra.com.
Niroshan and Dhananjaya de Silva will be considered for the selection for the remaining two (Night) T-20Is to be played at Dharamshala on 26th and 27th Feb.
IND vs SL 2nd T20 Live: They will also be part of the two-Test matches to be played in Mohali (March 4-8) and Bangalore (March 12-16).
