IND vs SL LIVE: IND SL 3RD ODI LIVE – With the series already in the pocket, India are ready to take on the Dasun Shanaka-led SriLanka in the third and final ODI in Trivandrum on Sunday. The series win also means India can now test their bench. But the biggest name who will be back in the Playing XI is Ishan Kishan. The wicketkeeper had to warm the bench despite smashing the fastest ODI double century in his last match against Bangladesh. Now, he will replace Shubman Gill. Ahead of the New Zealand series, Kishan will also look to cement his place in the ODI’s playing XI with his performance. Follow INDIA vs SriLanka LIVE Updates with InsideSport.IN

Why Ishan Kishan should replace Shubman Gill in the 3rd ODI:

  • As India has already bagged the series, it is a good time to test the bench strength.
  • With World Cup nearly less than a year away Gill should get rest from time to time.
  • Ishan Kishan should be groomed in the 50-overs format too ahead of the World Cup.
  • Ishan Kishan scored a double ton in his last ODI inning. Since then he is warming the bench.

There has been a lot of talk about Ishan Kishan after he smashed a double hundred in his last ODI match against Bangladesh. He became the quickest and youngest batter to hit a double century. Despite his double-ton inning, he was dropped from the playing XI, and in his place, Shubman Gill made a comeback. Cricket experts and fans have been left surprised when Kishan was dropped from the team in the first two ODIs against Srilanka.

Now, Ishan Kishan is in line to replace Shubman Gill. He will look to perform well and cement his place in the ODI playing XI ahead of the New Zealand series. However, Gill will not be cut for his poor form. He will have time to relax before testing Ishan Kishan.

Shubman Gill has scored 91 Runs in his last two ODI matches. He scored 70 runs in the first match and 21 runs in the second match against SriLanka at an average of 45.5o. Gill has played 17 ODI matches in total. He has scored 778 runs and his highest score is 130 runs.

Meanwhile, Kishan has played only 10 ODI matches for India. He gets to bat in 9 innings and scored 477 runs at an average of 53. Notably, his highest score is 210 runs, which came in last month against Bangladesh.
