IND vs SL LIVE: India’s NEW VICE Captain SuryaKumar YADAV’s BIG WISH, ‘to score big at HOME GROUND’, IND SL 1st T20 starts 7PM: Follow LIVE
Yadav claimed after the Ranji Trophy match a few days ago that playing for India had fulfilled a dream of his and that he had been eager to represent India on his home field.
“Who doesn’t want to play at home in India colours! While growing up, I always dreamt of playing at Wankhede Stadium and imagined walking down those stairs to the ground. I have done that in the IPL but it will be a different experience altogether with the Indian team,” he said.

Yadav’s home has been Wankhede. Since making his India debut two years ago, he has been named the team’s vice-captain. His phone is ringing nonstop with demands for tickets, and he doesn’t have time to react to each one. There will undoubtedly be thousands of spectators, including his family. And if a few MCA officials are to be believed, SKY would draw a big crowd for the first T20 International between India and Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
SKY’s sensational 2022
Being ranked as the No. 1 T20 batter in the world earned Suryakumar Yadav a vice-captaincy position in the team. Given the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant, SKY may very well be a long-term option.
The 32-year-old led the cricketing world in runs scored throughout the 2022 season. In 2022, he scored more than 1400 runs, including two centuries.
India SriLanka 1st T20
The followers of Indian cricket got more than glimpse of Hardik’s vision for the team when he led the team to victory in the rain-hit T20 series in New Zealand.
In an ODI World Cup year, the shortest format is not priority for the Indian team but the series will allow Hardik to start planning for the future, specifically the 2024 T20 World Cup.
