It wasn’t a day to remember for Hardik Pandya. While he was bowling decently, it seemed that he had his back problems back to haunt him. In the 11th over, he was seen clutching his lower back and struggling to bowl before physio came in and took a look. He did complete the over and commentators claimed it was due to the heat and humidity but it didn’t look like a cramp. The all-rounder has been struggling with a back problem and was not utilized as a bowler for India in the England series completely.
IND vs SL 2nd ODI: In the second match against Sri Lanka, Hardik Pandya bowled just four overs without any wickets. He bowled during the 7th, 9th, and 11th over. He later bowled the 33rd over before leaving the field in humid conditions at Colombo. In the previous match too, he bowled just 5 overs.
It seems like his lower back problem has once again come to the fore which prevented him from bowling after returning to top-flight cricket with IPL 2020.
