Talk about a comeback, talk about domination and outclassing the opponent. The Indian Women’s Cricket Team humiliated South Africa women by 10 wickets to clinch a dominant victory. And with his win, the Women in Blue have sealed the 3-match series 1-1. Pooja Vastrakar with the ball and Smriti Mandhana with the bat were the chief architects for India’s victory in Chennai.

Mandhana & Vastrakar shine!

India were tasked to chase a mere target of 85 runs in 20 overs. And leading from the front, it was Smriti Mandhana who led the charge. Mandhana and Shafali Varma chased down the target within 11 overs. The Indian vice skipper slammed a fine fifty of just 40 balls, with 8 fours and 2 sixes.

She hit the winning stroke with a massive sixer to also bring out her fifty. And with this win, India women’s team registered their biggest ever victory over the Protean women in the shortest format of the game.

Earlier, India won the toss and opted to bowl first. Pooja Vastrakar unleashed her carnage as she picked up a fiery four-fer. She gave away just 13 runs in 3.1 overs to bag the crucial wickets of Marizanne Kapp, Anneke Bosch, Nadine de Klerk and Eliz-mari Marx. Tazmin Brits was the highest scorer for the visiting side with 20 runs to her name.
