IND vs SA Test: Prasidh Krishna flops in Test debut, scalps solitary wicket to save blushes

India’s Test debutant Prasidh Krishna had a flow show. In Indian bowler failed to prove his worth and justify why he was selected ahead of Mukesh Kumar in this vital game. Former India cricketer, Sanjay Manjrekar claimed that the bowler was initially asked to bowl in a different way which doesn’t suit his style.

Prasidh Krishna got his nod ahead of Mukesh Kumar for only one reason. Prasidh is a hit the deck style of bowler which for Mukesh, his bowling style matches the likes of Shardul Thakur. Therefore to bring in a different variety of bowling, Rohit Sharma opted for Krishna.

But the bowler failed to create an impact. In his first spell he leaked runs in a flurry. But he sort of made up for his inital errors in the second spell where he manged to scalp Kyle Verreynne.

“Tactics were flawed for India. The pitch didn’t come to the Indian bowlers. You have to feel for Prasidh. He was asked to do something that he is not his natural style. He is more of a hit the deck bowler, but in first spell he was asked to pitch up. One he got into his zone towards the end, you can see what he likes to do. I will give credit to Siraj, it was teamwork between the two,” Sanjay Manjrekar told Star Sports.
